Activity: 

1.  A Civil Action

With a partner, read and annotate A Civil Action on pages 244-246 of your Study Sync books. 
Together, complete the SOAPSTone handout.
We will use the ideas from your handout to discuss the excerpt.

2.  Civil Action Rhetorical Triangle

Based on your responses, we will collaborate on a rhetorical triangle for A Civil Action.

3.  Rhetorical Devices

Individually, you will draw, at random, a rhetorical device.
You will be responsible for defining the term, giving an example, and illustrating the ideas.

We will eventually have a gallery walk for the terms.
 During the gallery walk, write down terms and definitions that are unfamiliar.

4.  Shading the Earth

Read Shading the Earth on pages 249-251 of your Study Sync book. 
Individually, complete a SOAPSTone worksheet.
I will collect these for credit.
